My opinion though is he's not as memorable there, but great in Seinfeld and Curb. Really exceptional in those two.
Kramer drives the bus. Such great writing, so many hilarious lines in one short scene, Michael Richards at his finest:
Notable roles in Boogie Nights and The Informer too. PBH is one of those supporting/character actors I never noticed before Seinfeld, and after that I saw him everywhere.
Kramer and the sniffing accountant is probably my favorite, but it was already posted. This one is great too.
Jerry: "We sort of broke up...She ate her peas one at a time...I saw her eat corn nibblets one time but she scooped them." George: "She scooped the nibblets". Jerry: "Yes, that was what was so vexing." George: "We had a pact!"
Yeah, from what I remember in the DVD commentary, Larry David and Jerry approached Jason Alexander with the rewrite after their normal read-through because they weren't happy with the original ending. He had to learn the lines at the last minute.
That’s really odd, because for me that final scene in the diner makes the episode. Remove that and I don’t understand why it gets so much adulation. But, yeah, obviously I think Larry and Jerry made the right call.
I'm remembering more about it. I think they had tried to shoot the ending, i.e., make George's story play out in real time without the narration by shooting it on the beach, and it just didn't work. So they used the diner scene with George telling the story and just edited in a couple shots from the beach. That's why you see George marching into the water and then it cuts. I thought the entire episode was great. The marine biologist lie definitely was working as great humor before the ending.
Right away, I'm cheating here, but my favorite scene would have to be one of the "who is this?" phone bits. I'd probably choose the forbidden city.
Each response here is a smile! Favorite scene from favorite episode, The Pothole, where they are all in the janitor’s closet. Can’t find it on YouTube, it compares well with The Marx Brothers.
Do know how I could pick just one. I could spend hours picking favorite scenes. For the sake of the thread I’ll choose this one.
One of many, and probably my favorite opening to any episode is when Kramer spends an evening alone in Jerry's apartment:
