I don't remember much about the particular scene, but one line has always stuck in my head. It involved Elaine trying to be encouraging with one of her co-workers (?), and I remember her struggling to come up with something positive, saying: "You're...symmetrical." Which is just a hilariously scraping-the-bottom-of-the-barrel observation about a person.
Rusty/Beefarino. Short backstory. The Monday of the week this episode originally aired, I woke up with trouble breathing. I was admitted to the hospital with Pneumonia and was put on oxygen. Thursday, I was taken off oxygen. The episode aired that night. My cousin visited me in the hospital and we watched. I laughed so hard during this scene I thought I was going to be put on oxygen again!
I love scene where supersleuth Kramer is sniffing, smoking and drinking beer at the same time. Hilarious!
My favorite scene from my favorite episode, The Jacket. Lawrence Tierney was perfect as Elaine's dad.
I was explaining to a 12 year old how the rule about double dipping became so popular. I described this exact scene as that point in time when afterward no one would double dip.
1991 - George Costanza getting an 'insurance approved' massage - unexpectedly from a man. 'It moved'. I attended the filming of that episode and was visible for a few seconds in the 'comedy club' standup segments filmed for the beginning and end of the episodes back then. At the taping they asked the audience for volunteers for the fake comedy club taping, done the following week. I was relatively young and unemployed at the time and attended. I was very briefly visible in 2 episodes of Season 3. The beer was fake and they paired me with a woman I didn't know based on our appearance and clothes.
Huh - I'm surprised to see I started this thread less than 3 months ago. Thought I opened it years ago! I stand by my choice. Eric the Clown rocks!
Good gift for the Seinfeld fan in your life: Hands-on: LEGO Seinfeld Jerry's Apartment delivers a 1,300-piece kit packed with references
Funny you mention this at this time as my 23 year old son just bought this set and assembled it Friday. Huge Lego fan but mostly around Star Wars related sets.
We are watching Seinfeld since it arrived a few months ago at Netflix and are currently in the last season. As huge Larry David fans, it is a rollercoaster ride. It's also a great look at the 90's. A lot of situations wouldn't happen these days with all the mobile phones and mobile internet, like the time they were supposed to meet each other at the cinema waiting line and ending up going to four separate movies. My favorite episode is the one where they lost Kramer's car in the parking garage. Also shout out to all the great side characters like the parents, but also Newman.
Was this scene the aired version? On the dvd, this take is in the outtakes rather than in the actual episode and I couldn't understand why they would use a less funny take than this one.
Trivia note that may already have appeared in the thread, but it's my thread and I'll do what I want! The ending of the episode wasn't intentional: the car simply didn't start. Those involved decided it was a better ending so it stayed in the show!
