I’ve just looked again at my list (posted way upthread) and determined that 95 albums aren’t going anywhere (for now) but 5 need a review. The first to go under the microscope? Rory Gallagher self-titled. And it passed with flying colors.

I think RS did a very decent job with this list. Paradize would have been T0p 5 for me and I woud have possibly switched the positions of the two Les Rita Mitsouko albums around. I don't know them all and there a good few glaring ommissions but the ones I've highlighted above are fantastic albums.

A top five would be something like

    Paramore - Paramore
Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
    Slipknot - Iowa
PJ Harvey - Rid of Me
    Björk - Homogenic

It's virtually impossible for me to pick a favourite Siouxise & the Banshees album-- there's at least 3 if not 4 near perfect ones. I landed on Juju but a A Kiss... and The Scream are near equals

Talking Heads - Remain In Light ( the perfect album, no second is waste)
Simple Minds - New Gold Dream (My favourite album in my teens I still love it to death)
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire ( first experimental U2 album with great ambient touches)
Talk Talk - The Colour Of Spring - (pop, debussy, classical, jazz, one note, etc etc.)
Prince - Parade (this album has everything including one of the best ballads ever made)
Sting - Nothing Like The Sun Jazz pop/rock at his best ( one of my favorites In my teens)

Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour ( This beautiful melodies, subtle brilliance)
Peter Gabriel - US (art rock at his best, so much beauty and so much influences it feels so personal)

    Nice list DPC.
Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, Neil Young - surprised I don't see JJ Cale on your list.

Cale's 1st 8 albums are great. Dire Straits 1st two albums seem heavily influenced by Cale...
