I’ve just tweaked my list as I was gobsmacked when I realized I’d bumped Dylan’s ‘Bringing It All Back Home’ in a prior purge…and the album contains nine (9!) tracks that I consider to be essential Dylan. So….out the door goes the Long Ryders ‘Two-Fisted Tales.’ Sorry guys!

Since several people have been making their lists with only one album per artist, I thought I'd give that a try (Still leaving out jazz and classical, as I don't know how to rank them in relation to the rock/pop stuff). This one took a little longer to compile, and of course the rankings end up increasingly fluid toward the lower end of the list:

Thanks so much! When I saw your list, it occurred to me that while a lot of people share my interest in Prog, you are one of the very few who seems to share my interest in what I can only describe as "cinematic Euro-pop."

I've LOVED that Danny Wilson album since it was first released! It's really a shame that they only made one more. Nobody sounds quite like them to me, but I'm curious as to whether you've heard Cousteau--I feel like they have a similar if somewhat darker sort of nostalgic pop sound.

I've not thought in terms of a top 100 for about 20 years when I started to think lists and what-have-you were a bit passe.

This top 100 is right off the top of my head. I haven't thought about it too hard and just want to respond with what seems to rise to the top of my mind. Not trying to impress anyone or anything, and the usual caveats of "this could all change tomorrow!" should be taken as given.

Also I'm not ranking them. Just here y'are, in chronorder. They're in 10s for ease of reading.
