Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here
    Yes: Fragile
    Yes: Close to the Edge
    Emerson Lake & Palmer: Self-titled
Genesis: Selling England by the Pound
Jethro Tull: Thick as a Brick
King Crimson: In the Court of the Crimson King
    Rush: Hemispheres
Gentle Giant: In a Glass House

Note: Zappa and Canterbury scene bands (Soft Machine, Caravan, etc.) were often listed, but they were jazz rock, not prog rock. They are often mistaken for prog because their music had a lot of prog in it, unlike other jazz rock bands like Colosseum, BS&T, Chicago, seventies Traffic, and Steely Dan. Phish is really an updated jazz rock band most of the time, although Junta and Lawn Boy were heavily influenced by prog.
