But I wanna see them in thier original ANALOGUE formats. I had a 1988 VHS release and it was flattened out garbage!!! (Absoluterly no detail)

Sickening how many shows/movies have been ruined on VHS!!

While looking at another thread on THE TWILIGHT ZONE, I was suddenly struck with the notion that some of the episode titles have been used elsewhere on TV shows and movies.

Quinn Martin must have liked these two titles:
    THE INVADERS
    THE FUGITIVE

A few sitcoms took titles VERY similar to TZ episode titles:
I Dream Of Genie (change the spelling of Genie)
Third From The Sun (add "Rock")
    Living Doll (add "My")

ABC had a Sunday night series recently called:
    ONCE UPON A TIME

HBO did an early series called:
THE HITCHHIKER (though TZ added a hyphen)

NBC had a summer series called:
PERSONS UNKNOWN (TZ added "Persons or")

There have been two films that used:
THE ARRIVAL (one took off the "The")

Just thought that was interesting. Any others?

There are others that I might-a wished I’da included instead of some these once I post them, but in alphabetical order:

A Hundred Yards Over the Rim
    A Passage For Trumpet
An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
    Dead Man's Shoes
    Ring-a-Ding Girl
    The Long Morrow
    The Trade-Ins
    Walking Distance
    What You Need
    Where Is Everybody?
*Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up

Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up - The only part of this episode I like is Jack Elam during the interrogation scene, so it’s really only 10.5 episodes!

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is not an actual TZ production, as the film was purchased to come under budget for the remainder of the season, but is was associated with the series nonetheless.

On a personal note, “Execution”, the criminal that kills Albert Salmi and winds up taking his place in the noose, has my name. And Serling says it on the Outro.

You have no idea what that did to my 9 year old mind.

And the other kids in the neighborhood the next day,
    pretty cool!

I love many of the episodes listed so far. I think I would've liked owl creek better if Rod shot the episode himself.

The loop concept of "Death Ship" fascinated me to no end (hey, how are they ever gonna get out of this?)

Of all the episodes ever done (and I religiously watched Twilight Zone every Friday night....after Route 66 of course).....but of all the episodes, there is ONE.....one....that scared the carap out of me....and it still does.

    And that is....."The New Exhibit".

I won't describe it....watch it yourself and let me know if crucial parts simply scare the socks off you.

The slight downer is that it's one of the hour-long episodes from season 5 or whatever. Those weren't always my favs......

But geeze.....this one still creeps me out.

    Which is cool.

    A Penny For Your Thoughts

I just started a 2 disk set, having never actually seen any before. I started with Walking Distance.

I am impressed with the quality of the video, love the music, and got absorbed in the idea of the story. The next one was the old man who wanted to only read, and then broke his glasses when he had the chance.

True. The film was also trimmed a bit to fit into the 25-minute television slot and to allow for a Serling intro. The credits were also "Americanized".

No one mentioned ' Hocus Pocus and Frisby '? Just as well.
And that one with Carol Burnett , ' funny ' episode which wasn't funny and had canned laughter in it. Canned laughter on a ' Twilight Zone' episode!

Omg I just started watching these start to finish.

Last night I watched the eighth or ninth of the first season, where they kept pronouncing robot as robut.

This episode scared the piss out of me when I first saw it as a kid. I mean really scared me.
When the ' reveal' showed that Cliff Robertson was now the dummy and the dummy was the human ventriloquist I just about passed put with fright that such a thing was possible.

Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and may seek it out (or read the short story).

Though I like the episode, I have a negative memory of it that has nothing to do with The Twilight Zone. In fact, it significantly changed my movie watching habits (for lack of a better phrase). Many years ago, I watched a TV review of Jacob's Ladder (by Leonard Maltin, I think). (Another alert if you just got back from Mars and haven't gotten around to watching that one yet.) It looked like it might be an interesting movie, so I stupidly watched the review to see if I should go see it. Well, the dope said "I won't give away the ending, but the movie was inspired by Ambrose Bierce's "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". Thanks for giving away the ending, Leo. Since then, I have refused to watch/read any movie reviews (or watch any coming attractions, for that matter.)

‘Nightmare As A Child’ was probably the most disturbing episode for me.

It’s been decades since I’ve seen it, so right now, nothing specific comes to mind for that response.

I think mainly that it was about the murder of a parent, and the story was base more in reality that maybe any other episode.
