In order of preference, with my favourite leading off --

    • On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    • From Russia With Love
    • Live and Let Die
    • Casino Royale
    • The Spy Who Loved Me
    • Thunderball
    • For Your Eyes Only
    • Licence to Kill
    • Dr. No
    • The Man with the Golden Gun

(haven't yet seen Skyfall or a couple of the corporate-era Brosnans, to be fair, but this is a heartfelt list, and I've had a lifetime of happy viewing to think about it!)

(Yes, I enjoy Goldfinger, but find it seriously cartoonish nowadays -- I liked it much better when I was a kid. I probably need to revisit You Only Live Twice, as I have been told that it's one of the best, despite my initial reaction. Never Say Never Again is better than the reports would have you believe, and it almost made my list.)

Hmmmm.... well, in no particular order...
    • On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    • Diamonds Are Forever
    • Moonraker
    • A View To A Kill - It's a guilty pleasure, I admit it. Being one of the first Bonds I ever saw helps.
    • Skyfall
    • Licence To Kill
    • GoldenEye - The game helped immensely.
    • Casino Royale (1954) - Peter Lorre's last line in the uncut (SpyGuise VHS) version seals it!
    • Octopussy
    • Goldfinger
Runner-up: Casino Royale (1967) - I've always had a love affair/fascination with this movie. Mainly, because I take the 'codename theory' to heart; this movie's explanation that the REAL James Bond was a spy years ago, and new spies are named in his honor, makes the rest of the films so much more sensible to me. Not to mention, I love Niven's stuttery Bond and John Huston's M ("they shay a good shpy ish a pure shpy!").

Runner-up #2: Mr. Bond (1992) - What's this, you say? Well, believe it or not, other countries have made their own Bond movies... many of them, in fact. This one is Indian-made, and aside from blatantly plagiarizing a chunk of "Never Say Never Again", has one of the most wonderfully over-the-top and ridiculously evil villains ever, who kills babies... just because, apparently. But the real reason for my vote is his final showdown with Bond in a kiddie water park, where Bond kills him and leaves him in a pool. Like, literally, just leaves him. And walks away. There's people in this place, too!

A View to a Kill is a likable to me, flawed as it is - not as bad is its reputation, could have been so much better. It was the first one I saw in the theater and also a great theme song. I also like the flawed The Man with the Golden Gun. So much potential there, but I still like to watch it occasionally.

Something's what I miss about the new Bond is the cool sophistication and nice table manners. Not to mention a bevy of beauties, which Roger has by the handful in his Bond version. :)

"For Your Eyes Only" was very good. He wasn't quite "too old" yet and the film was very down-to-earth for a Bond film.

Actually, everything he did up through and including "For Your Eyes Only" was pretty good, though some think "Moonraker" was getting a little ridiculous. But I liked it.
