Spader always played those type of roles in the brat pack movies.

In Less Than Zero, you could say he was the villainous character who was the drug dealer for Robert Downey, Jr.'s character and forced him into male prostitution to pay off his drug debt.

Ironic because he was an idealistic man. He did narration for the Carnegie Hall Woody Guthrie tribute when WG died. 1967? Dylan performed with The Crackers (they weren't even named The Band yet! Dear Mrs Roosevelt. I Ain't Got No Home, Grand Coulee Dam!) Judy Collins. Pete Seeger. Richie Havens. Odetta. I didn't know this before but it turns out their after show party was at Robert Ryan's apartment on the Upper West Side near Columbia U. When he gave up that suite it was taken over by John Lennon. The Dakota. Lennon lived there til his assassination.
