Excellent thread. Vlatko Stefanovski was one of my inspirations along with Fripp, Blackmore, Malmsteen and the like when I was learning guitar as a kid. Some of the later stuff I got from my parents like Smak, Den Za Den, Korni Grupa and Time is also amazing.

I definitely must spend some time and go through every page of this thread. I lived in the Czech Republic for five years and spent a lot of time looking for records. I would find the occasional Yugoslav record [Josipa Lisac, Arsen Dedić] but nothing at all like some of the stuff I just sampled randomly in this thread. I did find psych and prog from other Eastern European countries though. Great thread!

I do like prog. But know nothing about Yugo prog. And will need to explore. What I DO know is how great Yugo-Beatles cassettes are. About as good as the initial releases from the U.K.
