I don't think there are 10 great solo Beatles albums
    JL POB
    Imagine
    Double Fantasy
    All things must Pass
    Band on the Run
    Tug of War
    Ringo
I don't like Ram but even if you put that on this list that's 8

I would limit the title of “great” albums to:

    POB
    Imagine
    All Things Must Pass
    Ram
    Band on the Run
    Ringo

NunoBento, somnar and scocs like this.

Would not agree with including Memory Almost Full. That's a more left field choice than the Time Takes Time Ringo album when considered in proportion to other options available by each for selection.

Tug Of War would be a better inclusion.

"Double Fantasy" wasn't a solo album. John's half was (of course) only half an album. Many Beatle solo albums could be called half great. I think Yoko's half as pretty good also but that's definitely not solo John.

  10. I agree that it should not be on the list. Tug Of War, McCartney, Venus & Mars, Flaming Pie or even Chaos and Creation in the Backyard would have all made much better inclusions.

Looks like things were great only up to 1973. In my opinion, though, they did some "very good" albums after that date.

My list of great solo releases:

    1-All Things Must Pass
    2-Cloud Nine
    3-Ringo
    4-Band on the Run
    5-Ram

    6-Venus and Mars

7-Wings at the Speed of Sound (I know this nomination will be somewhat unpopular, yet I believe SOS is a truly strong album)
8-Wings Over America (The OP didn't exclude live albums. It's the best of the solo live albums, and there are several really good ones)
    9-Mind Games
    10-Double Fantasy

Sorry, as much as I love them, there isn't a great solo Beatles album.

'Revolver' is a great album. Are any solo Beatles albums on a par with 'Revolver'?

I only consider POB a great record and it's the only one I own...

Yeah, I included Ringo even though there are other albums by the other three that I consider better, but I decided to include at least one of every Beatle. And Ringo is a very good album anyway.

In fairness there's not many albums (by anyone) on a par with Revolver.

    Interesting choice for best production.

For me, that and Venus and Mars are the absolute worst (material aside).
