I'd like to make a change to my list in post #475 - please take out my current #100, "Enslaved - Frost," and replace it with "Portraits of Past - 01010101." Thanks!

Can't believe we're two days from zero hour. Even if BigDave wasn't putting together a compilation (which all of us greatly appreciate), it's been a blast just reading other lists.

Can't wait to see the finals!

Ok. So I went out and bought Hejira by Joni Mitchell. I had never heard it and if you feel it is number one of all time...then.. I had to give it a listen.
Whoa! Fantastic. How did I miss this one for the last 32 years?
Thanks for the introduction to a great album!:righton:

There sure are a lot of people responding to this thread. Would it be too crazy to leave the thread open a bit longer in order to get a better idea of the concensus of the total forum?

I realize not everyone is going to put in a list but as long is the thread is thriving wouldnt it be better to leave it open to get a better overview? I know the longer it goes on the longer it takes to tally this up but I , for one, wouldnt care if it took a little extra time to get the total tally from you Dave on this. You could take your time and if it takes six months to get the results back I think it would be worth the wait.

Also, I am enjoying looking at the lists and I hate to see it end so soon when it is really going good.

Yes, it"s been fun looking at everybodys list...up to Dave I guess !

If people want, I can extend it by another week. At that point it will have been open for almost a month (4 weeks).

I agree. If it's not too much bother, I'd like to see another week's worth of lists.
After that, why not just leave the thread open for more comments and lists if people want to post them--you just wouldn't need to tabulate them.
Thanks for your effort, and I look forward to the results.

  22. Grant

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

There will be no consensus, as far as i'm concerned. It seems like less than a third of the active member have bothered to create lists so far.

I'm thinking that a lot of people just don't like, or can't be bothered to list their most favorite albums.

I found it hard to assign a numerical value after 10 or 12 albums or so. The next 20 or so could all be in a however many-way tie for 13th place, the 20 after that in a tie for 30th place (or whatever it would be). Everything else I own could tie for 51st place.

It's not a bad idea to extend the voting for a week or two.

On the other hand, I am already curious to see what are the results so far. I am getting lost going through all the lists.
