None of these.Uncut Rolling Stone or anybody elses` opinions doesn`t mean anything to me.

    My favorites are,
Metallica Master Of Puppets & And Justice For All.Nothing else comes close for me.
Hendrix couldn`t get it done,Led Zeppelin couldn`t make it happen, everything else was lacking in some way.

I'd really like 1, 6 & 10. And the aforementioned Zappa Roxy that isn't on the list.

  7. Discreet Music got a special edition this year? Missed that one.

It's that time of year! I love year-end list time, even when I barely agree with the lists. I think I just like the act of reflecting back over the year.

On this list, I voted for:
    - The White Album. The first super deluxe box set I have purchased in years and worth it.
    - More Blood, More Tracks: Some pretty revelatory stuff. I have only streamed it.
    - Girly-Sound to Guyville: Great to finally get the Girly-Sound tapes out to the mass audience.

I've also really been enjoying The Song Remains the Same remaster.

Thanks for the enthusiasm. It’s a lot of effort to type these up so it’s very nice if they are valued.

Voted for More Blood, More Tracks - narrow win over the White Album. Surprised that the Imagine Super Deluxe didn't make the cut.

I'm not sure if I'm proud of, or relieved by, the fact that I own more of the albums on the 1-25 main list than this Archive releases list.

It’s included because there was a half-speed vinyl remaster. They call it a ‘hushed masterpiece’.

Yes, that is surprising. It will probably be ranked #1 on some lists.

Nothing has bought me more joy this year than the Bobbie Gentry - The Girl From Chickasaw County. The Complete Capitol Masters. A talent fully deserving of the elaborate boxed set treatment which has been lovingly put put together. Every home should have one.
Kate Bush Remastered has taken occupancy of my hi-fi these past 48 hours and am somewhat sadistically enjoying Bob's big box of sorrow.
The Kinks received vote number three. I liked that they also released a 49 track two disc edition for those who could not afford the boxed set or just wanted the remaster in both mono and stereo with another album worth of outtakes at a budget price.

  19. Roxy Tonights The Night Live and More Blood More Tracks single disc were standouts.
Dylan Live 62-66,Heavy Horses,Imagine and American Treasure all excellent.
Still waiting on delivery of orders with White Album box,REM At The BBC and Chris Cornell.
Loving The Alien is a better box than the music deserves.
Thinking Songs For Judy might be up with top 2.

For me the Roxy music 5.1 was excellent. The first time I had actually heard the album. I had had all the others at different points, but somehow never had that one
The Beatles White album is a treasure to me, with a really nice 5.1 mix that got me more into the album (and I did always like it)

  21. 'Discreet Music' is one of my favorite albums but I don't see the point of dividing the main 30 minute track over two sides of 45rpm vinyl!

    Same here!

So tempted to buy this, but it’s been an expensive year... Just hoping the price will drop a little. What are the sleevenotes like?

Also, agree that the Bob Dylan 1962–1966 live set should be listed. An amazing set.

    Neil Young all the way.

Still getting to grips with Dylan and the Beatles, but the Neil Young release is an absolute blast from start to finish.

The Girl From Chickasaw County is quite reminiscent of the Springsteen River box set in so much as the discs are contained in two folders and the book is a well annidoted hardback with a section in the rear cover containing a selection of postcards. Her seven albums re-mastered with 75 bonus tracks including an unreleased acoustic jazz album and a compilation disc of her BBC series.
The person who compiled the collection is Andrew Batt and if you read through the dedicated post here on the forum he has contributed throughout answering questions and rightfully accepting compliments!
