Revolution is probably my favorite rock song ever! (the upbeat electric version on past masters)
But, Revolution 1 is awful! Soo slow. And what's with the acoustic guitar?! I also wish they did something different with the orchestral parts - NOT INCLUDED THEM!

    Otherwise, this album is amazing!

Blame me... in a post a few days ago I said he was 50... my notes had his birthday as 9 Oct. 1968. In was in response to another poster calling him "baby" Martin. Ron

It doesn't look right does it? I'd have thought it would be no. 00000001 or something like that. I'm not that familiar with the auction house either.

I'm sure they're reputable but you'd have thought that no.1 would have been auctioned at Sotheby's or somewhere like that. It would have made bigger headlines by now wherever it was auctioned, I'm sure.

That's a view many people here don't agree with. To each their own.

I'd love to hear what information you've gotten about that possibility. I can't imagine a more timely re-issue / revision for such a pertinent volume.
It's an absolutely essential book. And until Apple/EMI/Whomever attempt their own version, it cannot be improved upon (and I say that with all due respect to Mark Lewisohn).

I've tried to follow up with CurveBender over the years about the rumors, but can't seem to get any info regarding their future plans for this title.
But boy - after Sgt. Pepper 50th and with WA50 coming now, (and no doubt others to follow), you'd think now, more than ever, this is it - it's exactly what the world needs now.
    A crying shame...

    “Way back in 68
    We went out to India
And all I could eat, was baked beans

Then was got back to England
    We convened at Kinfauns Esher
And we made demos, I kept beat

    And now in the studio
    They all ignored me
Bored of solo chess, so I left

I was in the greatest band on earth
    For what it was worth
    And I was only 28
And all I got to eat
Was beans in tins we baked. “

I don’t have any info in a release date, just that it’s in the works and that they’re updating things with new research. I’d like to see them do a Recording Sessions style version that’s cheaper and focused on the sessions, leaving the detailed technical information for the big book. They may be waiting to see what info comes out in the White Album box, though by now I’m sure they’ve seen it.

From what I've heard from Lewisohn...there are NO plans to update until after the Tune In series is over.
edit...I am mistaken..you were not referring to Mark's book. My apologies.

Agree. It is interesting that you mention Steven Wilson. Giles Maritn is often compared unfavourably with Steven Wilson on this forum with the latter being held up as the great Remix Wizard.....the peerless King of remixes! Right? However, if you actually visit some of the threads relating to SW's remixes for, say, Jethro Tull or Yes, you encounter countless gripes about compression -- the endless controversy over the mastering of Tull's 'Thick as a brick' by Peter Mew being just one example.

So, whether people think Giles is a poor man's Steven Wilson or otherwise, be in no doubt that the grass is often no greener over on the Steven Wilson side of the fence when you look at the threads that relate to his work. Angst and gripes over production and mastering are endemic on this forum.

Mark could really use an "assistant" to help out in some areas. Here's hoping that if they have a regular and expanded version..that it's available easily worldwide.
