Does anyone have any clues as to if the super deluxe edition will be available on Spotify? The Sgt. Pepper Box wasn't available initially upon release, but got added at some point along the way. I'm hoping that its appearance now, along with the complete Imagine Super Deluxe box being available is pointing towards The White Album SDE being available on release day.
This months Mojo are saying the 13 min Helter Skelter is amazing and the 10 min version of revolution 1 is really interesting, the 4LP boxset has a book in it according to them, 12x12 and 16 pages so doubt it will be hardback , but looking at the pics of the 4LP box it looks like there is only a poster and the photo’s with the 2 double LP’s.
"Red and blue channels"? Grayscale is what we purists demand for our Escher experience! Back to grayscale!
From what I can gather from my search, 4LP is QRP for NA and for Europe it's Optimal. 2LP is only Optimal. Someone correct me if I found the wrong info. I'm still willing to bet some of the LPs will be pressed in Holland
That's wonderful if it is. I really appreciate the fact that they've become more open with these releases. Young fans will be very grateful.
Just heard a vast majority of this box set at a friend's place and it's incredible. You guys and gals are gonna dig it!
Sheesh, in all the excitement, I missed that the mono mix is on the Blu-ray. With all these releases (and I’ve read nothing about Dylan yet but preordered) and trying to catch up with listening to Imagine, Tom Petty, etc. watching the Lakers and Making a Murderer, and oh, work — I can’t keep up with anything except tapping the “confirm order” button.
i noticed this too, such a bizarre mixing choice. Perhaps this was because the piano/guitar in the left channel was brought more forward and they didn't want the mix to sound too squished?
I'll try. Listen at 1:57. The aaahhh's trailing off the end of the vocal lines are sung cleanly, with no vibrato - I mention this one just for contrast. Always two voices. Here on, the warbling sound I'm talking about becomes increasingly pronounced with each appearance, starting at 3:37-3:48. At 4:00-4:07 it almost sounds like a guitar's vibrato bar going very fast on a held note - sounds like a human voice, yet quite distinct from Clapton's guitar. Then finally, throughout the area of 4:10-4:22 and again at 4:29-4:40 in particular. Like I said before, I think it was always there, just more subliminal. I'm wondering if Giles was so intrigued by this sound that he brought it forward as a "new" element, something clearly revealed only now. I hope this helps. Please tell me what you think.
Don't know about everywhere, Amazon UK has his books. They're not inexpensive, but they also expensive here in the states as well.
