Because everything I have read here suggests the loudness is baked into the mix. If you know otherwise please tell me. I'd love to know. (Hollywood Bowl is also very loud...there seems to be a pattern and I've not heard a word of him complaining - in the way Steve Wilson did - about post-mix mastering)
Yes, after I posted I then remembered that one. And just like TAAB it was later reissued without Mew's mastering because he messed up that one too.
Her Rampant Beatlemania broadcasts were awesome back in the day. Nice to know she's still with XRT (moved away 12 yrs ago now).

Let It Be, comes from the While My Guitar Gently Weeps session with Eric. George even sings a bit with Paul!
It would be more interesting to get the origin of those sounds snippets, before they were cut and spliced to pieces for that piece.^^
I know the reissued Wilson remix bookset without the Mew mastering is going for silly prices. There is also a Mew-less SHM version of the remix out of Japan...it's being sold on Discogs but starting from $60
Just finished listening to those outtakes, they're so good! I would describe them all the same way: "completely different than what you expect!"
So did Donovan invent the style of guitar picking that Lennon does on this album or did someone also teach him? It seems that Donovan has gotten way to much praise for showing Lennon a new trick. It's like every time someone plays Martha My Dear everyone repeats the story that the song is about Paul's dog, it isn't about a dog.
Loved Martha My Dear with just Piano, Guitar and Drums...and Paul's voice, wow!!! Andre also corrected on Facebook, what he said about it on the broadcast, which I always suspected, since we also have photographic evidence that Ringo and George played on it: ERRATUM: I gave out some incorrect info on the show this morning. Martha My Dear, according to the book accompanying the White Album set, was NOT a one-man McCartney recording. George and Ringo are listed on the track as playing guitar and drums, respectively. Apologies for my error - now back to the songs!!
And the beauty of a ride on the new mix of Mr. Kite, the harmonies in A Little Help and the power of Fixing a Hole. Kudos to Giles.
Yeah, though it's not quite Let It Be, it's rather just Paul singing the Let It Be words over some jam in A major. Ondra
Who actually mentioned these sessions tapes were MIA? It seems unlikely they went missing since 1988 when Lewisohn"apparently" heard them. Ron
