6v6 amp suggestions

Actually the 811As in the 1570B are driven by 6W6s. Unless you were talking about rolling 6V6s into that stage...

You'd probably prefer an EL34 / KT77 system then. I am with Steve in that the 6v6 is best used for lower powered guitar amps.

Everybody did, for availability. These were used in PA setups in buildings primarily. I've never heard of the use of 6V6s causing any problems. If the tubes were changed in a construction pull or hamfest 1570B it was always with 6V6s. I had to pull up the schematic to see they were in fact originally different.
