Yes it did. People still use the Hammond B3 that they had temporarily discarded in the 80s. The CS80? Not so much.

Wow ... just wow. It’s all just music. It would help if you don’t misquote people to support your bland generalisations and perhaps stick to the thread topic rather than using it to advance your negative point about the whole decade. I said “there was no 80s sound in general” and the many exceptions and debates are supporting my point. Success in the 80s could sound a bit 70s and lots of 80s radio was quite timeless. A lot of hits in the 80s had a lot in common but compare 1982 to 1988 and you might as well be in different decades.
As for the yearning for the 60s and 70s - your rose coloured specs are no better than mine.

Then again, the Stray Cats are the definition of the eighties rockabilly sound, as opposed to either the original fifties stuff or the seventies revival.

Igra Staklenih Perli - Vrt svetlosti

could have been straight out of 1970.
It's interesting that a review I read suggested the production was weak. Not to my ears.

Yes I agree. Also different to the 90's & more recent revival rockabilly sounds.

I don't know what's worse....the 80's music, or the stuff posted here supposedly non 80's sounding. Both make me ill.

Are you sure that that was review of Vrt Svetlosti ? Maybe that review was about their debut s/t LP from 1979 which suffers from bad vinyl pressing, so it's not weak on unremastered CD re-release, as ISP albums never got remastered versions.

Of course not. Written by Pete Townshend, it sounds like a never released The Who song.
