The album screams 80's ...born in the USA and dancing in the dark? 80'S defining along with Michael Jackson and others

Stylistically, Bruce Springsteen remain himself "frozen" in the '70s 'Rock'.

I'm not the biggest PJ fan, but I do like them and I like Yield the best.

I often wonder what Pearl Jam's approach would have been if "grunge"--and by that I mean Nirvana's Nevermind, an album that sounds nothing like what they were doing--hadn't become a monster.

Quite clearly it's the clothes they're wearing on the cover that are grungey (Pearl Jam's Ten).

It's very classic rock sounding, holds up well today and easily my favorite Pearl Jam album but not the new cleaned-up remix with it's heavy-handed mastering...the original 1991 CD is the best version bar none.

It was mixed to 1/2" tape so hopefully some day it will get a proper 2LP AAA vinyl release.

And yes, Dancin' In The Dark is absolutely 80s. Some other tracks like I'm On Fire and Hometown not so much, but that single would be on a definitive 80s mixed CD for sure.

    I'd offer up:
    Jane's Addiction's Summertime Rolls (1988)
    Peter Gabriel's Mercy Street (1986)

Yeah it's a pretty short list, haha.
