'867-5309' was a major hit for Tommy Tutone and yet it has aged quite well.

Willie Nile's output from the 1980s still sounds fresh and enjoyable. His album "Places I Have Never Been" was recorded during the 1980s and shelved until it's release in 1991.

Some of Bob Seger's 80s music comes to mind. Still sounds stuck in the 70s and that a good thing.

The Pencils - If You Really Wanna Hurt Somebody (1982)

Sounding more 60's than 80's - introduced by the late, great John Peel

This one by Sons of Freedom sounds like it predicted grunge: Super Cool Wagon. Brilliant.

Gordon Lightfoot's best 80s recordings sound like Gordon Lightfoot music overall including the Dream Street Rose and Shadows albums.

The closest things to Amy Grant 80s recordings that do not sound like 80s recordings are the "Age To Age," first Christmas album, and "Lead Me On" albums, but the reality is that a lot of Nashville based music productions still sound like this, but only using ProTools and brickwalled.

Baillie and The Boys covered this in 1991 as a country song so great choice.

    Good call!

Even in terms of production, this album is one that sounds so good I am not even clamoring for a remaster because I am not sure how you can improve upon its clarity and it sounds timeless in my opinion

'Old Loves Never Die' still sounds just as fresh as it did in 1981 when it was recorded by Gene Watson. Great arrangement and production.
