Let's see if I'm missing anything:

    A Signature Box Set
    John Lennon Anthology Set
    Double Fantasy Stripped
    Menlove Ave
    Live in NYC
Live Peace in Toronto plus the entire set of MFSLs
    Two virgins
    Life with lions
    Wedding Album

Any rare tracks that I will be missing once I have it all?

You really got them. You must be a completist. There's bound to be something you missing:D

Well, not yet. That's my purchase plan.

You would also need the remixes for Walls & Bridges & Rock And Roll for the bonus tracks.

Also, the soundtrack to the movie Imagine has a one or two exclusive tracks and the Rock And Roll Circus cd for Yer Blues.

Also you'll need either the 45, The John Lennon Collection CD, or the Lennon Legend CD to get the single version of "Stand By Me".

Also the Heart Play vinyl interview album.

Are you sure they are not available on the box sets I mentioned?

Get The Lost Lennon Tapes and trash Two Virgins, Life With The Lions & Wedding Album.

  12. Was released a few months ago. It's a 40th Anniversay Boxset that includes the orginal album, plus the Imagine Sessions on white vinyl. The mastering on this version of Imagine sucked though. Lifeless and dull as compared to the orginal release. The Imagine Sessions vinyl fares much better IMO.

Many of his albums were also remixed by Yoko in the 2000's. A lot of people prefer these mixes so as a completist you would need them.

You'll need the Mind Games 45 for the single mix of Meat City and, IIRC, most of the original albums were remixed or partly remixed during the previous re-issue go-round.

Yeah agreed, there are a couple of remixes that sound better than the originals..... Rock N Rock is one example where the remix sounds better.

12" promo version of (Just Like) Starting Over....runs longer than commercial release.

@ the OP I own this one if you want a review. I was one of the ones who was disappointed with the SQ on the main LP. I like the brightness that LP's usually have over CD's, but this LP was more neutral or even flat? No highs at all.

But, if I jack up the treble it's not bad at all. And the 2nd LP ("Imagine Sessions") sounds good as is. And it's a nice package, overall. So it has its pros and cons imo.

If you really want to be a completist you may also wish to note that

    a) the CD of Live Peace In Toronto is a remix

    b) the CD of one of the John & Yoko experimental albums (can't remember which off the top of my head) is missing a few seconds.

Also, there are mono/stereo anomalies between the original vinyl and CD of Life With The Lions.

I agree. Complete means you need the latest remasters and the remixes of all albums.

At least the sig set is under $100 now.

  22. Overall it's a nice package and the OP (if he's a true completist) should definitely add this. :righton:

These might be slightly off topic (maybe) but I really enjoy the Lennon Legend DVD with surround mixes and the Gimme Some Truth DVD, again with surround mixes and some isolated stuff.
