I recorded a song a few years ago for Jennifer Hanson which has been released by Capitol Records. It was never intended to be anything except a demo but when it came time to re-cut it for her album the producer couldn't beat what we did. They re-recorded the vocals so they could spend more time on them (although she's a fabulous singer) and the producer re-mixed it (GRRRR!!!!). He re-created my mix almost exactly except for the snare drum. Of course, mine was better.

The song's a direct rip off of Sheryl Crow's "My Favorite Mistake". She actually played that song for use before we recorded it.

    From Capitol's web site.
    · Jennifer Hanson leaps to #1 on the Country Singles Sales chart, with “Beautiful Goodbye.” And on the Pop Singles Sales chart, the song jumped from #53 to #32.

    Nice job, Jamie! Congratulations.

But don't let it go to your head. Y'know, one day you're up, the next day you're down...;) but enjoy, enjoy.

Say, while I'm thinking of it...can you list some of the albums you got credited for? Might even have a few kicking around the house somewhere...must confess, I don't read credits for newer albums the way I do for the older stuff.

Congrats, Jamie. I guess that "demo" really did demonstrate something, eh?

And I'd like to join ED here is asking for a discography, when you get a chance.

    Cheers!

    That's awesome!
Looks like we have a rising star on our hands.

BTW, what changes did they make to the snare drum?

Oh yeah, and what Jeff said. You get a gold record? I've always wondered if they really play. Oh, they're gold CDs now aren't they. :)

Me too. Jellyfish and the Beatles are my favorite groups. I buy everything even remotely related to Jellyfish.

I recorded a duet version of 'Drivin' Nails In My Coffin' with Willie Nelson and Beck back in 1998. It was for a hideous Woody Harrelson flick called The Hi-Lo Country. I also recorded Marty Stuart doing 'Smoke, Smoke Smoke that Cigarette'. That's where I met him. I wound up working with him for the next three years. Got involved with tons of great music because of him. Such a huge, underrated talent. He and Billy Bob Thornton are big buds so I got to do some surround mixes for the flicks. Way cool stuff!
