Anyone watching this short series? A Very English Scandal - S1 - Episode 2 Directed by Stephen Frears Written by Russel T. Davis Great stuff. Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw are superb.
Just finished watching the 3 episodes. Well done. Couple of points I missed though, if someone can explain? How did they know to look in the ceiling for the letters? And why was it so difficult for Norman to acquire a new identity card? Couldn't he just apply for one at a government office?
I thought they were renovating the office when the bag happened to fall to the floor. The workmen opened it up and realized they had a goldmine. I wondered about the identity card as well. I can only assume it's like a U.S. Social Security card, which I can attest is a nightmare to replace if yours is lost or stolen (thankfully, it happened to me in the pre-digital era. It still took four months to get a new one. My driver's license had been stolen, too, so I was trying to navigate daily life with no papers whatsoever). I also don't understand why a man so notorious still doesn't have his card--it's not like they don't know his identity! Maybe a British member can help with this.
