In order to make room for more GMA.

ABC Cancels 'The Chew', Expands 'GMA' to Third Hour

 

My wife loves this show. R.I.P.

 

I bet it's due, in part, to the Mario Batali issues.

Why call it GMA if it’s on in the afternoon? Good Afternoon America seems more like it!

 

Because GMA starts in the morning.

If you start your day with GMA, and you're still watching it by the time it's GAA, they must be doing something right...and you, are doing something very, very wrong......

 

I don’t watch GMA anyway.

 

This show really had run it's course and now it almost seems forced to be entertaining. That Barry Manilow looking host (Clinton) has always seemed way over the top for me and I've never warmed to Daphne's daily hair changes. Mario reminded me of an old high school friend (minus the sexual issues) and I realize that the show lost one of it's key figures when he had to go. In the end, this cancellation kind of works for me, because this hopefully means that Cleveland will get back one of their best chefs, Michael Symon, on a more frequent basis.

"The Chew" was classic Disney-led daytime fodder, with it's squeaky clean approach (Thanks for ruining that Mario!). Much like the other Disney show that has worn out it's welcome mat, "Kelly & Ryan" (or whatever it's called this week) and needs to be next on the cutting room floor, I'll have no real feeling of loss for "The Chew", but I do feel for the many women of the world who will no longer know what to do with themselves during that time slot!

* It should also be noted that I'm no fan of "GMA" by any means, in fact, my mornings always start with local news, followed by some "Morning Joe", until Mika makes me want to either vomit or throw something very hard towards my new LG OLED TV!

I don't understand why they didn't add more cast members when Daphne and that dirtbag left the show. It was like watching The Monkees what with the dwindling members. I was ready for Michael to leave and for The Chew to end the "Changes" era. Was ABC too cheap to replace them? Or was it not worth the trouble since the show sucked anyway? And will my wife's "Chew" cookbooks now become hot collectibles?

Okay, we had "The View" and "The Chew", how about.... "The Shoe"? Five loud women sit around and talk about the latest footwear. Have a segment where they complain about their feet hurting because they only wear sandals and capris all year round. It would be just like talking to my wife.

 

LOL!!! I have to believe that you are correct regarding Kelly or until she finally gets booted!

 

My perception of her (right or wrong) is that this is someone who is so desperately hungry to be famous she will do almost anything.

 

I predicted this when they started the show. Giving the finger to generations of soap fans would not win them viewers. And the concept was pointless to start, it had been done before .

 

No not The Chew, my cat likes that show.

 

I caught one episode and thought it was one of the worst shows ive ever seen (and I was a fan of marios old show)

 

People still watch this kind of daytime TV? You mean Netflix hasn't evaporated this kind of garbage completely yet? This show was still on, period?

I used to work at a job where The Chew was on with some regularity. Awful to sit through.
