I have been researching and looking for active/powered speakers that do not have an internal DAC. As from what I found there is no way to bypass the internal DACs that are present in active speakers that have them. I do not wish to part from my current external DAC as I quite satisfied with it.

    So far, I have found:

    (1) Audioengine A5
    (2) Acoustic Energy AE1
    (3) Genleac 8020d

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Depends on your budget.

ATC, Focal, Neumann (since you are considering a Pro brand like Genelec), ADAM, ....

FYI - the Audioengines aren't active speakers.

The JBL 305’s are fantastic if they’re not too large.
