Concerning Saltzmann and Broccoli, I had read on a site (written by a huge Bond fan) that by the end of the '60s, they had creative differences and that they had kept the partnership going by having one of them in charge of each successive movie. I have never seen any confirming evidence but, if it's true, OHMSS and Live And Let Die are mostly Saltzmann while Diamonds Are Forever and The Man With The Golden Gun would be Broccoli productions.

Of course, the Saltzmann ones are a little more realistic and grittier than the ones supposedly produced by Broccoli, which are more glamorous and escapist. The support I can find for this theory is that Saltzmann was also responsible for the Harry Palmer trilogy.
