That album cover has a very John Denver look to it! Not sure I've seen this before. Thanks for posting it.

Barry Manilow often does not smile on his albums and when he does, he usually poses with a closed mouth smile. But on this recent UK comp (with a pretty nice song selection), he bears his pearly whites! Decent photo IMHO - not sure why he seems so hesitant to use shots like this. (Barry Manilow, Music and Passion, 2008)

Yes, she has a very vibrant smile. I like it! (Carly Simon, The Best of Carly Simon, 1975)

This is a great idea for a thread Parachute Woman. It is powerful to see this collection of smiling artists all collected in a row like this. Lifts my mood. Indeed this is positivity!

The battered housewive look. Creepiest smile ever, imo.

It’s telling how Bowie smiles on covers that appeared without his consent. He prefers to appear somewhat absent and slightly menacing on his album covers.

Yeah I think that is true about a lot of musical artists. Not necessarily menacing but at least reticent.

I agree. I don't think he liked to smile on camera. I might have read at some point he was insecure about this teeth. Regarding your comment he liked to look somewhat menacing - look what he chose for Lodger! When my brother in law saw it at the time it was released, he said "What happened to him - it looks like he was run over by a truck."

:) You're welcome. The main reason is the OP specifically asked that people label their photos and I'll bet that is one of the many reasons why.

Here are two reasons why it's considerate to tag:

People can search the thread to see if something has already been posted..

6 months from now when the photo has disappeared from this thread and the IMG tag appears in its place we are still able to know what was posted.

edit: I see you acknowledge this.
