It is a nice list but I would consider there to be several all time classics that are very well known

Oh and I know that the former is a compilation but it consists of their first album and an EP which is why I include it.

Mother Earth - Living With The Animals & Make A Joyful Noise are both such great albums that were fairly popular in the late 60s & early 70s but have since fallen into obscurity

Dave Mason - Alone Together was a underground radio staple in the early 70s & one of rocks grandest solo efforts

Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance
    Pere Ubu - Dub Housing
Pere Ubu - Story of My Life
    Pere Ubu - Raygun Suitcase
    Pere Ubu - Pennsylvania
Pere Ubu - Carnival Of Souls
Pere Ubu - 20 Years In A Montana Missile Silo

David Thomas & two pale boys - Meadville & Surfs Up...

Maybe someday Pere Ubu & David Thomas will get the recognition they so rightly deserve

Lou Reed - The Blue Mask is over shadowed by New York but is every bit as good as the best LR & is responsible for jump starting LR & Velvets now historical 80s appreciation & confirming their status as one of rocks greatest pioneering bands

The Raybeats - Guitar Beat is a great instrumental album & the guitars really shine thanks to Jody Harris & Robert Quine

Bryan Ferry - The Bride Stripped Bare should have been a major hit in the late 70s....

Even today it is shamelessly under rated

Bryan Ferry - These Foolish Things was BF 1st solo album & it is a all covers album...

Ferry in his best Dracula has risen the grave vocal with the 70s most bizarre production makes for another little known gem of a album

Sylvain Sylvain s/t is the NYD alumni
    1st solo album...

No longer in Johansen & Thunders shadow SS proved he could rock without the Dolls there to help out...

One of 1979 lost classics & my fav solo Dolls LP by any member

The Great Society - Conspicuous Only In Its Absence is the fabled San Frisco Sound on vinyl & contain the definitive versions of Somebody To Love & White Rabbit

VIII is not Chicago's best album but it's still a good classic album by any measure or standard.

i considered myself a pretty big bee gees fan but the 'early middle' period---post idea, pre-main course---always struck me as just this gooey mess of softness, for the most part, with a small handful of exceptional tracks. made myself pay close attention to ODESSA in a long drive a few months back and realized how wrong i was---it's as good as 'classic baroque pop of the 60s' gets, deserves way more love than it gets.

Vince really only receives praise and recognition for his Charlie Brown Christmas album, but his other albums and especially this one is one of the best in my collection. I don't mention is as much as I should.

    Ken.e. Spinning music since...

A couple of classic albums for me that I thought should have far greater appreciation then I think they do.

I knew the album as Two Wheels Good. An album full of catchy jazzy tracks that was well produced by Thomas Dolby. The songs are full of humour yet they have a certain darkness to them and maturity. Every song feels like a tremendous amount of care went into both lyrics and melody. I've heard that they wrote three or four albums worth of tracks and picked the best. I never get tired of this album which I put on once a year, it still sound fresh every time.

Maybe this is a classic but I feel it doesn't get recognized as such. Just an incredibly interesting album that brings worldly images to mind. Fantastic guitar playing from start to finish coupled with Hugh Marsh on violin which adds wonderful colour to the songs. Bruce is a favorite of mine and this is the album I enjoy most by him.

Steve McQueen is a classic, in fact the band overall is unjustly forgotten. Heck Crimson/Red holds its own to this record...and Paddy played all the instruments with a detached retina and tinnitus.

A number of the albums on your list I agree with... the absolute indisputable heavy weight champ is Syl's self tiled. The Blue mask as well; although in it's case it's always present in the Lou Reed conversation amongst my crowd.

Excellent list! Although The Blasters are alway the benchmark for great rock n' roll in any serious conversation. Your others fit the bill in all aspects; classic rarely mentioned. Think I'll spin Doug right now.
