It is funny to think that the album made up of so-called "leftovers" - "Tattoo You" - has a much better reputation than this one! :D

I like but don't love "ER". Some good songs but not much that stands out as genuinely memorable - even the more enjoyable tunes tend to lack that something special to be classics...

They had most of the songs from Tattoo You to choose from as well as the ones the appeared on the Some Girls deluxe edition bonus disc and they ended up with Emotional Rescue. In my opinion, they chose the wrong songs.

Not considered their best is the understatement of the century but I still love it (every song).

I love Hot Space because it's cringeworthy. Body Language, Staying Power etc.

Don Gibson's albums on Hickory Records are often disrespected and overlooked in favor of his earlier material on RCA. Due to his popularity as a hit songwriter, listeners were quick to forget that Gibson also frequently recorded unique interpretations of other songwriters' material for his RCA albums. In April 2018, the label Omnivore Recordings will be releasing a 1CD compilation focusing on Gibson's Hickory output and this will dispel the myth that Gibson's Hickory recordings were somehow inferior or lacking in quality.

Yes! It's clearly not his best (even in my blinkered state, I recognise that I can't hold If Dogs Run Free against anything on Blood On The Tracks/Highway 61), but is the Dylan album that ALWAYS works for me - it's like a warm bath and a cup of tea, whenever I need it.

Over the years, Pretties for You went from my least favorite Cooper album to easily one of my favorites.

I wouldn't want to lose all the other stuff Cooper did, but it's too bad Cooper didn't continue in the direction of Pretties for You for awhile--it's so unique.
