Havent heard this edition but I can tell you the album is essential. One side of funky instrumentals and one of wall-to-wall classics.

Oh, I absolutely love the record. So much that I've been looking for a vinyl copy for years but they fetch a lot. Interested to hear if this reissue was done well.

alright! finally pulled the trigger on this. first, the fact that this album isnt widely available on vinyl is a shame. so damn good. ive practically given up on used new orleans stuff in decent shape for fair prices. glad i came across this.

looks like a legit release to me. cover pic is clear and glossy. came sealed. record was VERY dirty though. i dont think its 180g but its heavier than a standard record. also came with a major dent right at the beginning of 'sweet touch of love.' im not the most picky dude when it comes to defects but this is a for real mark, like it was dropped. SHOCKINGLY, it plays clear through that spot on my system. not a pop. still, for $25 shipped it should be in better shape - its going back. but not before I gave it a listen all the way through :)

great instrument separation and pretty wide soundstage. sounds real clear to me at a high volume. a little on the bright side but that cld be my 2m red. i dont hear much surface noise, but it's there. especially side two and in-between tracks. im 99% sure it's because of the dirt and a some time in the spin clean wld clear that up. im not one that gets too deep into the analog vs digital sourcing argument and while this is mostly likely cut from digital, it does not have that "CD" type sound that some newer vinyl remasters have.

Holy ****! I had no idea originals went for so much cash. $150 for an original US pressing?! I got mine for $15 about ten years ago. And I would NEVER sell it -- arguably the most essential Toussaint LP of them all!

Jesus. How did you find an original for 15?!?!
It's an unbelievable record (So is Life Love and Faith and Southern Nights) and yes, originals are absurd.

I just picked this up. It is without a doubt the noisiest new record I own.
Wow! Filthy, then cleaned with a VPI....didn't help much. Unacceptable.
