My father-in-law had terrific results with that solution but just learned of the company's state. Since nobody has any in stock any longer, he would need a solid alternative.

Any suggestions? He owns an Okki Nokki RCM and uses Audio Intelligent #6 and #15 solutions as well but is looking for a pre-cleaning solution alternative.

MicroCare used to make a product called Premier.
It was in a spray can and it was marketed as a record cleaner. They said it would remove mould release agents.
Gayle from Nitty Gritty confirmed that it was the same chemical as Nitty Gritty FirstRV.
MicroCare no longer markets that product, but I would bet that it exists under a different name and for different usages.
I seem to remember Vertrel as a name being tossed around. I could be wrong on that.

I would think the product is in one of these 2 lists.

A call or email to MicroCare may get you further.

Another thought, perhaps finding a MSDS for either FirstRV or Premier might give answers as well.

Good Luck and if you find anything out, please let us know.

How about MoFi Pure Enzyme? Let it soak for 3-5 minutes per side and vacuum.

As far as I know FirstRV and Premier were the only 2 fluids of its type.
They were solvents that evaporated very quickly and were marketed as cleaning fluids for mould release removal and spot treating very stubborn problems that enzymatic and regular cleaners could not tackle.
I have a bottle tucked away in the fridge and use it on certain occasions.
For everyday cleaning I am happy with Tergitol.

    What's your mix/formula for Tergitol?

If he is already using AI 15 and a high purity rinse, I can't see the need for anything else. He's already using one of the very best fluids.

If he's looking for a pre-cleaner for very dirty or stubborn records, just let the #15 soak longer on the record. Up to 15 minutes on absolutely filthy (and I do mean filthy!) records.

For my current batch of fluid I am using 10 drops of 15-s-3 and 10 drops of 15-s-9 in a gallon of distalled water.
My next batch will be 20 drops of 15-s-7 in a gallon of distilled water.
There are 4 of us who share the fluid so we go through it regularly
