I wouldn't think that would be adequate.

If @MikaelaArsenault would like to check out the movie, it can be streamed free if you have Amazon Prime.

I'd boycott that stupid 'vertical' trend.

    Maybe a friend?

It is an interesting movie. It was shot in a real motel near to Disney.

    It is an eye opener.

Everytime they say "shot on a smartphone" what they really mean is "shot on a smartphone with about $8,000 worth of extra grip equipment to hold it, aftermarket lenses and external sound."

And about $100,000 worth of post-production...

Still, while the entire movie was not shot on the iPhone 6S, the ending, which takes place within the Magic Kingdom was.

This was a clandestine operation, so no grips or extra gear. Al footage was just wild footage with not sound though.

Right. "The Florida Project" was actually shot mostly on 35mm film, with the Arri Alexa used for some night scenes. The final scenes done gonzo-style at Disneyworld were shot with an iPhone. I was crying by then so I couldn't really see the picture quality... A beautiful, deeply emotional little movie. Everyone should see it.

Now back on topic! I dislike Fallon enough that even the smartphone gimmick can't make me click. :tsk:

I agree, and I was an inn keeper myself of a Florida Motel.

You see how children live in situations like the children depicted in the movie.

I would actually watch and be the caregiver for children from single parent household's, who were living in my motel.

This is so, that while they are with me, they can have a life far different than in the Magic Castle motel (which is a real motel in Kissimmee, FL). And it is really painted with that lavender color paint.

When I was around 20 I worked as the maintenance man at a place that looked just like that. The shenanigans around there were plenty. There weren't many children though.

Today's world is different. Apartments today are expensive, most requiring first, last and security to get in. That is, after a credit and criminal background check, which leaves many out.

In the old days, if you had a problem tenant, you could just get rid of them. Today, you have to go through a time consuming and expensive eviction process, so apartments are harder to rent, even if you have the money to rent one.

Motels offer weekly rental's and transient occupancy, so people come and go. More and more people live in motel's today, including single parents with children.

I could only wish Fallon got the same comeuppance at the tail-end of that episode as those kids got at the climax of that film.

Instead he'll probably get an extra financial bump once the SuperDeluxeDirectorsCutSteelBoxEdition Christmas Release of his smartphone show drops on iTunes. :sigh:

(also, while I'm at it...Gorts, is it possible to like "likes"...? The member response to Post #3 in itself is hilarious! )
