Yeah it looks really good. I have the MCA Heavy Vinyl Buddy Holly LP which I bought cheaply and it's excellent. If this is as good or better I'll be very happy

I swear the site didn't state the source when I sent the email. Maybe it was always confirmed :)

I wish they would release some of the previously announced SACDs we've been waiting months and years for before announcing new ones!

Great news! I'm getting this one. I really hope the self-titled album gets an AP release as well. That one is so good.

Got the Acoustic Sounds catalog today and saw the Holly titles. I'm very excited about the SACD versions.

I would be particularly interested if anyone can compare this new release to the following UK album - 'compiled and mastered by Steve Hoffman' and released in 1985.

Buddy Holly - Legend MCA MCMD 7003.

It sounds fantastic, and its my go-to record to demonstrate the quality of the old tapes. But I guess it is just possible that a QRP 200 gram pressing could sound even better?

I've got that - part of the MCA Heavy Vinyl series I believe. Kevin cut some (all?) of them - and they are amazing. Dave Mason being another one.
I'm torn as to whether or not I need a newer cut from him. I got it dirt cheap some years ago - I'm talking under $10 sealed. Can't believe what I see it going for now.

Kevin ' s Mastering Chain has been improved significantly from then from what I've read. I've Pre Ordered, and since there are hardly any Audiophile Buddy releases I think it's a no brained for me.
