Anyone else finding just a few too many old DVDs just don't work any more?

I have none that I'm searching for......BD for me now. UNLESS it's a rare item not on BD but, I have most of my want list.

 

I have about 40 titles to get. But it's always expanding. Pre- 1960s Dvds will suffice, with the exception.

 

WOW! that's a lot and these are not on BD? or just want to save the money with DVD?

 

BD not essential anymore unless 3D. Or ..Maybe fancy packaging.

Got rid of tbe DVD to get Blu Ray. But I'll get the DVD back. Read something about the BD that put me off.

 

The DVD is 1:33 Full frame the BD is 1:78 Wide Screen...was that the reason?

Other reason ..a few years ago I got rid of DVDs to upgrade to BD. The Who had a single about that situation.

Checked out my copy of The Apostle last night it's dead the disc looks like new just won't play on any player I have.

DVDs not working ?
Usually Blu Rays in my case, could be laser probs, or firmware. Have to reverse/fast forward the disc.

 

we don't really know the future of BD if they will also fail like DVDs have. hopefully since they are made better than DVDs we may be good.
