I bought a pair of 1976 Pioneer CS-A700 speakers on a garage sale this weekend. Specs include 60 watts peak and 2-3 channel capability. They were made in Japan and cost $500/pair new. I'll bet they weigh 30 pounds each and are made of maple(?) with a very attractive patterned cover. Any thoughts or reminiscences?

My Friend Ken bought a pair similar to those back in 1977 in Japan while he was in the Air Force ( along with a pair of Sansui speakers and enough equipment to make this 17 year old drool for years!) and they were at many a party for years. Nice looking units. I used to love when we had the Sansui's stacked on the Pioneers and had all four channels of His Sansui receiver cranking out "Bridge of Sighs" or "Captain Fantastic"! Great memories.
