Anybody else out there hooked on Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, or the mighty Pentangle (and related)?

I can't get enough. Also, TONS of Renaissance, King Crimson, and Moody Blues. Snap me out of it! :pineapple:

I'd like to hear some more Tull stuff like the country trilogy.

I have several albums from Fairport, Steeleye Span and Pentangle but don't listen to them much. I do listen to lots of Crimson, Renaissance, and the Moody Blues. For the past several years I have been listening to lots of these guys...

While we're heading this way, could somebody give me a description on Lindisfarne's music. I've seen their name mentioned before but can't say I've heard anything from them....

Yes. Pentangle is a recent discovery. I love what I've heard so far. I saw Fairport at the Bottom Line in NYC in the early 90's. Dave Pegg was very drunk and angry and he began singing Sea Shanties about the club owner's mother, much to the horror of his bandmates.

I was just listening to Pentangle's first album last weekend. What an excellent and well recorded album that is. I also enjoy solo John Renborn and Shelagh McDonald.

I like almost all UK folk music.

In fact if memory serves that was actually the second time I saw them there. The first time I was heading into Manhattan for a Diamanda Galas performance and got stuck on the Queensboro bridge for two hours and missed it so I met my friends at the Bottom Line for the later Fairport show. That might have been the first time I'd ever heard them.

Indeed. In fact recently I found both the UK Transatlantic and the US version. Someone here asked me about how they compare sonically. Haven't heard the US copy yet but the UK does sound wonderful.

Certainly, this was a period without key historical members, but cool none the less.

Great song here. Oddly enough, it reminds me of Rodriguez, who was around at this time. Perhaps an influence one way or another.
