This is not really Nevermind related but I don't know if a 50 second video clip is thread-worthy. I mean, I think it is...but others might not.

Nirvana - January, 24, 1988, at a Radio Shack in Aberdeen Washington.

The day after recording their first demo with Jack Endino at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle. Dale Crover on drums.

The Youngbloods knew how to smile on their brother, how to get along with one another... right now. Would kind of defeat the purpose of the song. Back in the late 80's early 90's, there was kind of anti-hippie thing because it was felt like sugar coating, but now it's a anti-grunge thing at times. Plus one purposely line sung out of key and melody that's not part of the actual song wouldn't be anything.

Kind of tragic when the teens say there's no good rock today to compare to Nirvana. :sigh:

I'd be interested to get your take on Hootie and the Blowfish's Cracked Rear View.

At the time I was stunned that such bland and annoying (to me) music could become so popular. However I now view the album's popularity, at least in part, as a backlash to the aesthetic and attitude of Nirvana and the grunge scene -- the dour outlook, the distorto guitars, sceaming vocals, sloppy dress/hair, self-destructive life styles, etc.. All the folks who were put off by this finally found an album they could get behind and turn into a monster, and they did!

I've come to believe he really had no idea about how great and excellent he was. It was all pretty overwhelming to have every rock dream come true times ten I guess. Then to see jerks who used to harass him a few years earlier making out like they were his biggest fans and didn't get the lyrics in the least sometimes. But mostly there was and is a lot of heroin in this region. I don't know why Charlie Parker, or John Lennon or Johnny Thunders or Andy Wood or whoever started on it. I don't know how or why Kurt started, but some people were physically sat on and had it forced on them. If people can learn though... anything good was in spite of the drugs.

Yes, Kurt must have been aware of the commercial potential of the songs. Because he did end up with an audience of sheep, from his viewpoint...

Not really. How many bands have you seen playing live in a Radio Shack these days?

Gosh, it's so tragic to become a rich famous rock star when your fans aren't cool enough for you....

please note the fine bros' 'react to' videos are widely known to be scripted and feature actors masquerading as everyday individuals. whether or not the views expressed in that video are actually those of the individuals depicted is anybody's guess.
