I'm excited about the Jerry Garcia box from Rhino and the Garcia/Grisman album from Acoustic Disc.

I'm happy enough with the Black Sabbath import CDs I have on Castle. Not sure if I will pick up the box.

I've heard good things about the new Los Lobos disc as well.

 

I'm happy, when I can replace my Castle remasters... and I hope Rhino got the correct mix of Who Are You (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath).

 

I'm intrigued to see about the Sabbath Box. I need to do some comparing of the Rhino Symptom Of The Universe set to my Essential! discs to see how the mastering compares. A lot of those Essential! discs seem alright to me...Never Say Die, for one, sounds just like my Vertigo German LP.

 

Claus, is there a wrong mix on the Essential disc? It's the only version I've ever heard, so...?

 

The Sypthom of the Universe compilation has the same mastering as the new remasters in the box. How does it compare to the old Castle remasters?

 

Yes, it is... Castle used the wrong tapes for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I have the japanese WB-pressing and the sound of the alarm clock is loud (same on the original LP), but on the Castle remasters I can't "hear" the alarm clock during "Who Are You".

I only can do a compaison when I have the box set in my hands...

 

The Rhino remasters are a huge improvement against the Castle remasters!!!

 

What's the scoop? Info please.
