Whenever I have tried to integrate my CATV feed with my Audio system there is a hum introduced.
I think this product, the MAGIC, is supposed to fix this.
Has anyone used this thing and did it work?
Are there any other products/solutions for this problem?

The hum is definately caused by the Cable Company feed.

    Thanks!

Where is the CATV coming from after the coax? The VCR to the HT?

If it's coming from them, they need to put an appropriate filter on, or find out what's up. That's no good.

Grab an RF filter from Radio Shack for around $10.00 to $20.00 and connect it to the line either before it goes into your VCR or before it enters your pre-amp. This solution worked for the exact same problem for me. The hum is loud enough to make it unbearable to watch anything through your system, yes?

The Radio Shack RF filter goes in line on the coax, right?
I think I bought one of these and it didn't do the job.
I read somewhere that a lot of cable companies have their grounding all screwed up and it must be lifted to alleviate the problem.
It appears, too, that this changes every time they do work around here.
Calling them and discussing does not work, it just makes my head hurt.

That's the item you want to try. It's pretty much exactly the same as the unit I sell from a company called Xantech. At any rate you want to put it at the very begging of the cable that is running to your tv or vcr or cable box or whatever. It's important it's on the start of the feed so to speak, not after a split or after a vcr, etc. Good luck.

Yup! I really don't know what to suggest as if you were running pure SS I'd say just slip the ground providing you're not running large wattage but with tubes I'm not sure this would be a good idea.

NoTinEar, Thanks for the Radio Shack link. At that price I will give it a try and it looks different than the one they sold me from the store.
Otherwise I might try to get an audition sample of the Mondial Magic if I still have the problem.
    Thanks!

Yes, that's the one that I was talking about and use Shakey. Thanks NTE
