Rivers Cuomo - bus crash, broke some ribs as I recall
Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Richie Valens - plane crash

Members of the Moody Blues were also involved in a car wreck (I think it was Justin Hayward and John Lodge) during recording of Octave in a mudslide in heavy rain.

Rick Allen of Def Leppard - lost his arm in a crash

Paul Hammond was involved in a car accident that really affected him as far as his drumming due to his leg injuries. This led him to a deep depression and substance abuse which from what I read did him in. RIP Paul.
