Back catalogue releases related to McCartney's 2016 move back to Capitol - First releases announced*

The surprise is McCartney is pulling his catalog from all streaming services and starting his own subscription site.

Maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but I hope this means Capitol will pick up the speed with the Archive-reissues; who needs another version of Band On The Run (on coloured vinyl this time) when London Town and Back To The Egg are still unreleased in this series.....

What I am wondering is if the 'surprise' relates to Wings / Solo or the other band!

 

I still thought/think the reissues of 8 albums will come sometime before the end of 2017.

As for this extra "surprise", I thought it was just the possibility of the first single from the new album. I personally doubt that there will anything else in 2017 except the 8 reissues.

 

The extra surprise for the end of the year is a different thing and I won't talk about it until late October/early November, a few days before the official announcement, so I also ask my buddies with whom I've shared this info to keep it down for a while.. Regarding the upcoming official announcement, you can post meanwhile here but it's not the correct thread to do so, even when involves Capitol and McCartney and his catalog.. or maybe it is, don't know, I will figure it out soon.

it is great to see how things could change from one day to another... let's wait for news on this mysterious video which, according to description, is DIFFERENT from the other one maccawings told us about.. no news on a new album finished on this front, only the 'other' releases coming soon and release date also is near and the thing called 'surprise' is nothing related to a new single or album from Paul, now let's see how record companies and the labels act to accommodate things to be released in the coming months. The 'other' releases could be pushed back for 2018 (even with a release date THIS 2017, campaign promotion, configuratins, formats, etc, etc) and the new album coming this 2017.. or Paul is shooting in advance some of his new songs although a new album will be available until early 2018.. or... anything could happen at this stage..

 

My sources say there is definitely something coming in 2017 or early 2018 or possibly later or never.

1) a boring (but colorful 8x3) announcement (soon)
2) a more interesting surprise (November/December)
3) a new album next year

plus 2 videos, one with sand, and one with a piano!
