Actually, my brother called me and told me to check my email because he got me a surprise. He ordered both of them for me as a gift. I have the suspicion that he wants something. He is probably moving again and needs help.

If the pre-order price is X, and I don't jump in and purchase it at X - if it goes up to a higher number (X + Y), is there anyway to still get the lower price ?

    I don't tend to pre-order stuff - but I am a Prime member.

I'm thinking that won't mean squat. It will be the price I'm offered the day I pony up with a credit card. If it goes up, I still get my price. If it goes down, I might get a lower price. But if it goes up, and I finally decided to buy - I don't get the previous price - correct ???

You get the lowest price after you've placed your order and before it ships.

Yeah, they look amazing. Hot Toys does human faces better than Sideshow Toys, IMO. Sideshow's alien or costumed figures are great, I have a Yoda that looks amazing from them.

I grew up with it and I know our 6 year old boy would love it - I don't love the price, though. I may not be able to resist, however. I want to see Egghead again, being a big Vincent Price fan.

It looks like the series will also be released on blu-ray in Japan.

The Japanese version will include the original English soundtrack, as well as the 60's-era Japanese dub. (Only the first two seasons were broadcast in Japan, so the third season won't have a Japanese audio option.)

There will be three subtitle options as well: English, and two different sets of Japanese subtitles (one for the English version, and one for the Japanese dub).

Warner's Japan site also lists the breakdown of episodes per disc, and if the discs are single or double layer:

    Discs 1-5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13: double layer
    Discs 6, 9, 12: single layer

The series also breaks down like this:

    Discs 1-3: First Season
    Discs 4-9: Second Season
    Discs 10-12: Third Season
    Disc 13: Bonus material

I've decided to cancel my order for the US version and go for the Japanese one instead. While I won't watch the Japanese version much, I'm interested to hear the period dubs. It will be kind of cool to see how they did Adam West's earnest delivery, Robin's "holy" schtick, and Frank Gorshin's manic Riddler.

  16. That is interesting, I know the show has kind of a cult following in Japan. It's possible the American set will have the Japanese tracks on them but hidden from view, unless you have your player set to Japanese. Some American releases do it that way, hiding the Japanese subs and dubs unless you have the player specifically set for it.

You might be right about the US and Japanese versions being identical, but with different content visible, based on your machine's language setting.

I have a couple of WHV Japan blu-rays like that.

Here's the WHV Japan page on this release:

I pre ordered the DVD set. The BR set is loaded with crap I don't need.
As far as the Japanese dubs go, after being inundated with Japanese voice actors(my kid is hard core anime), I expect the voices to work fine. But the translations might be funnier.

I wish they could put out a Blu box WITHOUT all the fluff and "extras". Just give me the discs! Don't need trading cards or toy cars.

I'm usually 100% in agreement about this kind of nonsense, but the Hot Wheels Batmobile and trading cards are *cool*. I for one must have them.

I wish this as well seeing as I don't really have the shelf space for such an item. But for $150 I figured what the heck.
