IIRC, Paul Lynde was in at least one episode of Jeannie too (albeit as a different character).

I Dream of Jeannie was a bit too silly for me. I had it one DVD, but it went with a lot of others in my recent DVD purge. Bewitched I kept, but just barely. Probably mostly for nostalgic reasons. I watched it whenever TVLand did a marathon around the time of the Kidman/Ferrel movie. My grandmother never let me get past the credits of Jeannie, though. And Jeannie had to've been a Bewitched ripoff. Its first or second episode had the same plot as one of Bewitched's first.

That's always the big question about Bewitched: do you prefer the first Dick (York), or the second Dick (Sargent)?

It's Dick York all the way for me- the classic Darren. He had the exasperated but loving husband down pat. Dick Sargent was too cold for me.

Bewitched was better but Jeannie had one of the greatest cameos ever. Major Healey wishes he was the the funniest man on earth and Jeannie turns him into Groucho Marx.

I used to order Dick Sargent looks wise. His cartoon looked weird, but he had a much more "normal" face. Dick York freaked me out a bit.

Have your own shootout. I already have the Jeannie set, and these are discs from the Sony sets that were released by season, stacked together on a hub in a single case. Not the greatest packaging but for under $20 each, a steal.

I Dream of Jeannie - complete series (20 discs)

    And

Bewitched - complete series (33 discs)
    http://amzn.com/B00DXLO086

Under $20 each and sold by Amazon, not third party sellers.

Love Bewitched when Paul Lind shows up.

Each show is ok for me in small doses these days, pretty much a toss up depends more on the specific episode.

IMO, there is no debate. Bewitched was a much better show. Jeannie was good too and was certainly hot, but the characters on Bewitched were much better.

It's more fun to watch Jeannie and spot the belly button slips. :D

Jeannie was so silly I had a hard time stomaching it when I was 7. Bewitched, while definitely silly, just works better as far as I'm concerned.

    Bewitched.

And on the follow up question I easily pick the Munsters.

I always liked the supporting cast better in Bewitched, though I did like Major Healey in Jeanne.

Samantha told him the truth about it all. Then she twitched her nose and erased his memory of the conversation.
