The fact that at times Wendy seems more devoted to Axe than she is to her husband has something to do with his obsession.
I was wondering the same thing. Chuck's jealousy of the Wendy/Axe relationship definitely plays into his obsession. That finale was like sharks feeding on themselves, brilliantly done.
Yeah, there is a deep emotional connection between Wendy and Axe that Lara and Chuck are both obviously deeply jealous of. Even though they are not physically intimate (or at least we don't see it) it's obvious Wendy and Axe love and need each other and the writers were very savvy to set it up that way.
I rewatched the season finale last night to actually remember what happened then woke this morning with an email CraveTV that the new season is available. Great first episode! There was also an entertaining podcast on The Ringer this week with show's creator, talked about why the show has resonated with NBA players so much.
I started laughing at that point because 1) I couldn't believe they were using that song and 2) it was just so perfect. Taylor rules.
loved giamatti getting spanked....he actually looked like he enjoyed it and maggie siff was liking it too. must have been a very interesting filming session.
This latest episode was quite possibly the best of the series, if not one of the top 3! The moral conflicts were truly front and center in a most poignant manner. I won't get into details as to not spoil but man, it was powerful stuff! BTW, I just saw this pointed out elsewhere and thought I'd share; did anyone else catch Axe's rig in this last episode? he was sportin' some B&O Beolab 90's! makes ya wonder if Axe just buys the most expensive gear or is the dude a tried and true audiophool!?
I saw that. He's a metal fan. That thing with the astronaut was really over the top, even for the characters on this show!
Absolutely, it was pushing buttons that any red-blooded American would react to, that's for sure. And yet, on top of what I thought was a smart, different, and effective storyline (the astronaut), you have the absolutely stellar acting performance being put forth by Paul Giamatti, the dude is such a heavyweight! The scenes between him and 'dad' this week were award-worthy! VERY entertaining episode on so many fronts!
Which version of Mr. Bojangles was used on the 'Hell of a Ride' episode? And how could I get it? 45? CD comp? Thanks!
What amazes me about this show is that there are no heroes, everybody is dirty or complicit in some way, which levels the field and forces you to pick a villain to root for. In other news, looks like Taylor has a boyfriend.
