I've seen them 6 times and have tickets for Verizon in July (well it's down the road about a mile from my house so how could I pass it up).

Wish they would drop the Hard To Handle set finale though.

How's Chris's voice on this tour? I haven't heard any of the boots. I'm kinda sitting this latest resumption of the Crowes out. Some new music would probably draw me back.

Honestly, his voice sounds great. The show I saw in Chicago was the best he sounded in a long time.

Overall, Chris's voice has sounded really good the last several years on tour with Crowes or other projects.

Did the Crowes play any new unreleased songs this tour?

None. They kicked off their US co-headlining tour with the Tedeschi Trucks Band on Friday, continuing last night. Not playing much from the Before The Frost... Until The Freeze which is disappointing for me.

Hopefully, there'll be some new material soon.

For some amazing insight into the world of The Black Crowes, listen to the latest Steve Gorman Podcast...

He talks very frankly about many aspects of the band, lineup changes, their fans, setlists etc...

I highly recommend it to any fans, or anyone wanting a candid glimpse inside the workings of a longtime touring band

He even covers fans obsessing on message boards on this episode?.. Ha ha!

Terribly joyfully anxious to see the band in Vt in a couple weeks, particularly because Luther dickinson brought a professionalism and imagination to the Crowes they lacked for years...Jackie Greene is a fine musician who i've seen on his own and commanding the stage with Phil Lesh though I don't see his role the same as Luther's...gonna be fun nonetheless because the Robinsons & co are so unabashedly their own people (and Gorman is one of the best drummers on teh planet!)...Welcome to the good times indeed!

Seeing them for the first time on Tuesday in Boston with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the kind words on the podcast. I'm Steve's co-host Mitch (obviously I have no issue with music message boards!)

This episode was a sequel of sorts to an in-depth Crowes discussion that we had 3 years ago. So if you like hearing Steve's stories you might want to check out the original interview here:

    Thanks for listening.

I really enjoyed this interview with Steve (thanks Mitch!), he certainly seems to be very grounded and forthcoming - something which is a revelation from the Crowes camp in recent years! They really all should collaborate on an official band biography. What a story it would be ....

As Gammondorf/Mitch mentioned above, the original interview mentioned above is excellent also and highly recommended - it also contains a quick snippet of an unreleased/previously unheard Crowes track from the 3 Snakes sessions.

Finally, for all fans keeping score at home, they recently debuted the SH&MC b-side 99lbs, which is now available to purchase from liveblackcrowes.com

Honoring their Georgia roots, as it was written by the late-great Joe South from Atlanta, who also produced & played on Billy Joe's recording.

Thanks for asking all of the great questions Mitch. Longtime fan... I've been listening to SGS for years back when it started as a podcast. Steve's insight is amazing to me. I was laughing out loud with his comments regarding "Spider In The Sugar..." HA!

Just saw The Black Crowes on Palladia playing in some festival in London called "Hard Rock Calling"? Awful name, by the way. But I didn't catch a single glimpse of long time backup singers Mona and Charity during the songs they did (Sting Me, Hard To Handle, Hush, Jealous Again). Are they no longer with the Crowes on tour?
