I recently came across sealed copies of Cannonball Adderley's "Something Else" and John Coltrane's "Blue Train" on Cadre Rouge Audiophile Editions from Blue Note. They were manufactured in France in 1984 and digitally remastered using DMM. Does anyone know anything about the quality of these pressings? Thanks in advance, japes
Not the best. I'd go for mid-70's Liberty pressings over these unless you can get them very cheap. Here's a link that discusses them (several pages in)... http://www.berigansjazz.com/website/blueNote_1.html
I went ahead and picked them up. Heck, they were only $10 each sealed. Their not bad. But I think I'll stick to my MFSL golds. Thanks, japes
