OK - don't where I got the impression they were a US retailer.

I am so looking forward to these remixes.

I think I've actually convinced myself to listen to them first when the box arrives. Something a little familiar, yet different, to whet the appetite.

    And then... comes the feast!!

Hi, I‘m new to the forum. Such a pleasure reading through this thread!

I had wondered about those remixes from the Minnesota tracks as well. Anyone know more about those? Who did the remixes and with what approach? I am not aware of any discussion of perceived problems with the original mix?

Not unfashionable specifically, just impossible for some most of us! :) How about if you watch the "If You See Her..." video with the sound turned off? It's almost as rewarding.

I bought on release day in the UK and the cover had the liner notes - think that only later editions replaced the notes with the current picture.

On this occasion, I’ll admit to listening to “If You See Her, Say Hello”, but I can respect your decision. I didn’t listen to any of the previews in advance of Big Blue.

Buttons on guitar percussion stem would have been nice too.

Yeah, I cancelled my order w/Amazon and went w/Badlands. I can accept £99 for this set; I couldn't justify £150.

Seems like at least a Minnesota take of ‘Meet Me In The Morning’ might have been lost.
This from Clinton Heylin’s ‘Rain Unravelled Tales’:

    My guess:

Early Rewrites to distance self from the pain.

Later rewrites consistent w creativity and need for change.

I hear a tightening up of the lyrics in the progressive recording stages. That's why not having the Minn. session recordings is a big hole in the heart - not being able to see the possible lyrical changes from those take to takes - let alone just not having those recordings. Maybe it's simply part of the bittersweet that goes with the BOTT territory. Loss and loss.

But he wasn't going to go with 'kiss her once for the kid', for instance, as the final lyric. I don't blame him/her for doing what he did and getting free...

This is a touch off topic but if you wouldn’t mind:

How old were you when you listened to (not “heard”, as in radio) Blood in the Tracks (lyrically)?

    In other words:

What was your age when you were emotionally moved, touched, arrested, etc by these lyrics?

I’ll explain why I ask later.

    Thank you.

    Great question

My thinking is wide here: the takes w the most brutally bare lyrics and version. It is a guess

    For me, 16.

(Hearing BOTT before even that tender age would probably be emotionally scarring.)

Amazon are pricing themselves out of sales on this release. That reduction has to come along soon, but any predictions for when?

How about using amazon.de ? 124 euros delivered (110 quid). Price guarantee - if price lowers, you get the lower price.

    So happy about this release.
    I have a question...
How come it doesn’t warrant it’s own thread?
It looks like it sprung from the last bootleg series.
What page does this thread start with the actual announcement?

Not sure why Amazon are not bothered here but really they have missed the boat already and those who jumped are cancelling. Looks like HMV are OK in the UK at around £99. Postage is free in the UK and my last order with them arrived on release date. That would be fine after the absolutely shocking debacle last year. I ended up with a very late and somewhat battered set. They ended up refunding everything and I did the extra CD but I would have preferred to pay a reasonable price for a timely and intact package. I don't know if there are any incentives this time from Bob's site but after the amount of time it took to resolve the last set I want reliability this time round. They picked a bad distributor last time for delivery although I suspect that will change this year. Remember the thread for last year - it was last and venomous! The only blood I want this year is on the tracks!
