Lay Lady Lay. To be honest though one of the strengths of this album is its cohesiveness

Like the melody of Lay Lady Lay the best, but the lyrics of Tonight I Will Be Staying With You better. It is a hard choice between the two!

It's all one great song to me, just parts of a suite. Love the album. Sounds like Tubby The Tuba on bass.

I feel that way about New Morning. The song order is great on these two albums.

    Saturday Quiz:

Name two other Dylan albums that have "tonight" in the title of the closing song. No googling!

I didn't like this album when I first listened to it. Gave it another chance 15 years later, and I can't tell you how pleased I am that I did.

A delightful album, but there is one track that grabs me every time and won't let go until it ends - "Tell Me That it Isn't True". A very under-rated track in Dylan's canon, in my opinion.

Here's what the cover looks like:

Correct. And there's another. Given your username it's kind of obvious...

That would have to be "Where Are You Tonight?" from Street Legal.

    Just a heads up.
The Country Music Hall of Fame has a fantastic display of the Dylan -Cash and the Nashville Cats going on right now.
It is outstanding and well worth the visit.

Love this album. If hard pressed to pick, it would have to be "I threw it all away" .

    Regards

Dylan+Cash+Nashville Cats is a nice album, and Dylan's unreleased "If Not For You" is good.

Lay Lady Lay. It just sounds so suited to Dylan's voice. The whole album is great though.

Always been one of my favorite albums, short and sweet, no filler if you ask me. Love every song, but "Country Pie" and the Johnny duet have always been two that stand out to me.

Loved Dylan's voice on Skyline, Self Portrait and New Morning. Syrupy smoothness from the Bobsters vocals.

"Girl from the North Country" very closely followed by "Lay Lady Lay".

    ****1/2
"Tell Me That It Isn't True", "I Threw It All Away", "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here with You" and "To Be Alone with You".

This album has grown steadily on me over the last few years. A very friendly, warm and involving record with Bob gently crooning his way through the songs.
