Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline - your favourite track?

One More Night

 

How is “Girl From the North Country” not dominating this pole? There is no justice in this world...

 

"Girl from the North Country," used masterfully in one of my favorite films (Silver Linings Playbook):



"Tonight I'll Be Staying Here with You" is a close second. When I was in high school, I used to drop the needle on just that song on my dad's copy of Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 all the time. I was obsessed with it.

Great album. Narrowly chose the closing track over the opener and the hit.

 

Voted for I Threw It All Away. Honestly thought this would be way ahead in the poll. For me it's one of his best ever songs.

 

Looking forward to the day when a deluxe version of this classic is released. Picked up the hardcover book all the songs and read the list of unreleased tracks?! What a wonderful lp.

 

Like every track on this shiny little gem
But the opening track with Cash takes the ring.

It gets a bit of a nod due to the Jeff Beck Group version.

I love this entire album. My ONE single problem with it is that I wish Cash and Dylan cleaned up their presentation of "Girl From The North Country". At the end they almost hit this beautiful harmony but it just doesn't go. I hate that. These guys should have done the entire album together.

 

I like the fact that it’s a bit sloppy.

 

A beautiful record from start to end , it's not easy to put any individual track a top of each other.
I chose Girl From The North , though it might have been Lay Lady Lay.

I voted for "Lay Lady Lay," but "Tell Me It Isn't True" gets me every time! Lovely album.

 

A real favorite Dylan album. I went with Lay Lady Lay

 

I like this album, Lay Lady Lay is just too much of a classic to go passed.
I prefer the rolling thunder "I threw it all away" and " Tonight ..."

 

I think I first heard this album in 1978, and for the past 40 years I've been trying to find a girlfriend (or even just a one night stand) called 'Peggy', so that I could play her the truly beautiful 'Peggy Day'. Alas/FML, Peggies are few and far between these days

Anyone got a used Peggy they don't want anymore?

Extremely difficult to pick one supremo here. There are many times in the past I would have chosen Lay Lady Lay, I Threw It All Away, Tonight I’ll Be Staying, or Tell Me That It Isn’t True.

But Girl From the North Country has got the deep spook.
