Brian Eno – Music for Installations boxed set (4 May 2018)*

You sold me on the SHM version (being a different box). I have all of the SHM Eno Mini-LPs except Music For Films 3, so this box will be a nice addition!
Odd fact : The regular ( "non-SHM" CD ) version being offered via CDJapan is more expensive due to the discs / package being imported.

 

I'm hoping this is a much cooler deal. Looks to be.

Both Amazon UK and CDJapan have reported that the release date , assuming all formats and versions, has been pushed back to May 11.

 

My mistake. Just the SHM-CD version is being delayed to May 11.

 

Well Amazon UK just took my money....approx. delivery May 19 (to Australia).

 

Ordered the Standard 6-CD version from ImportCDs on 4/14. Shipped out 5 /2. Should have it by Monday!

For some reason they shaved 5 bucks off the price I ordered it at. Final price with shipping was $51.95 --- It is currently on backorder status on their site.

Wow, missed that one before and thought they would be gone by now but still available. Ordered

 

Mine arrived at work today, the bare-bones 6-CD package. Comes in a nice little box with a 64 page booklet. Each CD is housed in a little individual cardstock sleeve, and all the CD's are different colors.

Very nice package here for the price, but still several hours before I get it home to listen.

 

I've got the standard cd set coming from amazon (scored at the amazing price), although I kept on considering cancelling that & spending the extra $200-ish for the vinyl set, which looks lovely.

Anyway, I haven't (for now: see if it ever goes on special), but I just noticed this on the discogs entry for the vinyl, which was news to me:

Comes with download voucher which includes files as *.wav - format plus two bonus tracks "Modified Fishes (MC MSTR1) 44_24" and "Purple Zone (MC MSTR1) 44_24".

Interesting! Be good to see some reviews/comments from those who went with the vinyl, of the set overall & of those two tracks.

 

Well into the first track on the first disc, “Kazakhstan”—great sound on the standard CD set so far!!

 

It's on Apple Music.

 

According to this site, they're bonus tracks (on Music for Future Installations and Making Space, respectively) on the Japanese edition.

 

Is the mastering civilized. Meaning not loud. Reflection was oddly mastered really loud which is unnecessary for ambient type music. IMO.

 

Only just halfway into disc 2, but I think the mastering is good so far.

I don’t know this material, and some parts on disc 1 were musically abrasive at certain moments. But it has a good sound, I wouldn’t say it’s too loud. Good presence.

Don't have measurements but yes the cd is unnecessarily loud.
