First single "Living Zoo" is definitely BTS.

I can't wait for this album and show but I wish it were somewhere besides Stubb's. I just don't like that venue.

No Seattle show. I wonder if that's because we got two in January, though I don't recall any new material being performed.

Thanks for the heads up! :)

I was just thinking, this is shaping up to be a pretty good year: this one, Wire, and Swervedriver so far. :D

It's been almost six years since There Is No Enemy, but Mr. Martsch still knows how to coax wonderfulness from his guitar.

    Great stuff.

Nice return to form. It sounds like a successor to the Keep it like a secret album.

Not bad, though I really wish they'd get into releasing live shows. I've seen them dozens of times and each one is different.

It reminds me of There is Nothing Wrong With Love.

This is a band that I've never heard before, although I've come across the name numerous times, probably as far back as their inception (which Wikipedia says was in 1992). Judging from the two songs posted above, both of which I like, I could have a lot of catching up to do ...

    Great Band!

Some new shows were announced the other day...

Has anyone tried the 24/44.1 source of the new album..?

Haven't seen another builttospill thread here at sh.tv - did I mention this is a great band..? :goodie:

So they're playing at a bar just down the highway from me, which rarely happens, but "no advance tickets," just $10 at the door like some local cover band? You've got to be f@cking kidding me. Like I'm going to drive 50 miles so I can stand out in the parking lot because the place is too jammed to get in the door. So frustrating -- I'd love to see the Doug in action!

Has anyone seen the blue vinyl variant that was supposedly hidden in among the first pressing?
Thought it was supposed to be 500 of 10,000 but i've also seen it listed as 300 of 15,000

One of my good friends spent two years with them recording every show they played on WB's dime; he had over 3 terabyte drives full of live music recordings.
He got paid to also mix the shows, and then gave them back the drives, and nothing has been heard from them again.

    That was in ~2009 ish.

I wonder if their still being on a major label is why there aren't any live archive releases? I was surprised to get the new release and see they were still on Warner Bros.

They were pretty open about allowing people to record shows when I was in that scene in ~2000, but there don't seem to be many recordings available from the online sources.

I just posted DR info for the the HDtracks download -- a few of the DR numbers are different from the CD, but basically the same. Haven't listened yet!
